Army today recovered an ULFA-planted Improvised Explosive Device (IED), weighing 2.5 kg, in lower Assam's Nalbari district.
The police said Army recovered the bomb, hidden inside a plastic bag, at Khumdi village at about 1 pm in Nalbari police station.
Army's bomb defusal squad came to the spot and defused the time device.
The police later arrested Jiten Basumatary, a village panchayat member, in whose house ULFa ultras had hidden the bomb before it was put inside a plastic bag, sources said.
He was being interrogated.
