The body of 21-year-old Malini Murmu, a IIM Bangalore first year student who had committed suicide in her hostel room on Monday last, was brought to her apartment at a multi-story residential complex today.
Malini's relative Ramesh Hansdah, a former JMM general secretary, demanded stringent action against "the person whose action abetted the suicide move by such a bright girl."
Malini's father had lodged a case against the person, reportedly her boyfriend.
Later, the body was cremated at Parvati Ghat in Jamshedpur.
Allegedly upset over her boyfriend's notification on Facebook that she was dumped, Malini, a first year MBA student from Jharkhand, hanged herself in her hostel room last afternoon, Bangalore police earlier said.
Investigations revealed the person was in Bangalore recently and had a quarrel with Malini, a senior police officer said.
Malini joined the IIM-B last June, having worked at Infosys after completing her B Tech, according to the institute sources.
