Refusing to step down as the chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on health, expelled SP leader Amar Singh today said he would follow ex-BJP leader Jaswant Singh in this matter.

"I am not resigning and I am following Jaswant Singh in this matter," he told reporters outside Parliament.

When it was pointed out that the former BJP leader has resigned from the chairmanship of parliamentary committee on PAC, he said "If I resign it will be of my own and not under the pressure from the Samajwadi Party (SP). In anycase I am not resigning now."

Singh also firmly ruled out the possibility of returning to SP.

"Question does not arise. I would prefer to die than joining the SP again. I was abused by Mulayam's family members," he said adding " Neither me nor Jaya Prada would ever join the party again."

About the status of Jaya Bachchan in the party, Singh said "she is with us".
