Huge stock of adulterated ghee seized in Rajkot

Around 1,500 kg of adulterated ghee was seized from a factory in Mavdi area here today, sources in the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) said.
       
Acting on a tip off, RMC's Health Department raided the factory, Khodiyar Ghee Centre, and seized the stock, they said, adding 250 kg of fake butter was also recovered.
       
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the factory owner, Vinu Siddhapara, was mixing soya and non-edible chemicals in pure ghee, they said.
       
The outlet has been sealed and samples of the ghee sent to laboratory, the sources added.
