In today’s hectic and sedentary lifestyle, people hardly get the time to keep themselves fit. There are also those who have all the equipments at home for working out, but very few can manage to be regular with it.

Considering the situation and keeping health as the priority, the Karnavati Club has modified its gym with an investment of around Rs2.25 crore. A number of equipments have been imported from abroad which includes 10 new treadmills for cardio exercises.

Secretary at Karnavati Club Ltd Girish Dani said, “Our club has been very proactive on the health issues of its members and their families. We therefore try and upgrade the existing technologies every three years to ensure that our members get the best for their health. This time we have invested around Rs2.25 crore for the modernisation and expansion of the gym.”

The club members are mostly come from the business and upper class of the society, and the fitness experts therefore believe that their high consumption of junk food and high calorie diet along with less laborious lifestyle make them more vulnerable to health hazards. These modern equipments, however, can help them to stay fit.

Karamjit Bhatia, coach at the Karnavati Club, said “We have observed that most of the people who come to workout at the gym suffer from obesity, and the primary reasons for this are intake of junk food and sedentary lifestyle.”

The new equipments and healthy gym ambience will not only help the members stay fit, but will also provide them with the motivation to be consistent in their effort towards a healthy lifestyle, added Bhatia.

He also suggested that it is better to workout in a gym than at home since the enthusiasm level of the members will remain high. Besides, they will also get expert guidance and will be closely monitored by coaches to avoid injuries.

As for the safety of the members and their health, Jigish Shah, one of the directors at the Karnavati Club, said, “Many a times, people collapse for some or other reasons. To avoid this, the club has tied up with Shalby Hospital, which, because of its proximity to the club, would be able to attend to emergency cases. This is not possible at home.”
