HC admits PIL in connection with JMCF examination

The court of chief justice KS Radhakrishan of the Gujarat high court has admitted a public interest litigation (PIL) in connection with the age relaxation people belonging to the scheduled castes (SC) are getting for the examination for civil judges.

According to the norm, candidates belonging to the scheduled castes are entitled to receive an age relaxation of five years in the examination, however, the high court, which is conducting the examination, has given age relaxation of three years to the candidates belonging to the scheduled castes. Earlier, the Gujarat high court had invited online applications by way of competitive examinations for filling up around 121 vacancies.

This is for the first time that the candidates, who are appearing for competitive examination in the cadre civil judge, would have to clear three tests, preliminary test (PT), main test and viva or interview. Preliminary test would be conducted on November 1, followed by the main examination on December 13.
