Guess who unwittingly gave sixteen-year old, Sanjay (name changed) the idea to use a proxy server and fake IP address to send an email blackmailing his former classmate?

The teen got inspired by his tuition teacher who used a proxy server to do some online job with help of fake IP address.

While the teacher had no role to play in the morphed photographs, he unwittingly became the inspiration for Sanjay to use the fake IP address to hide his identity.

Sanjay was arrested by the Detection of Crime Branch for trying to blackmail his former classmates by using a morphed photograph that showed the girl in the nude. Sanjay used a proxy server and fake IP address to send the mail.

Primary police investigations have revealed that Sanjay used his teacher's laptop to send the email to his former classmate who studies in a Gandhinagar school.

Police sources told DNA that Sanjay's tuition teacher was using his laptop to do some online outsourced work with help of a fake IP address.

"He was using the fake IP address to hide his online identity as he was also working somewhere else," investigating officer, DCB, Kiran Patel told DNA.

Patel further said that the teacher used the proxy server to do the online work.

However, Sanjay, a sharp student, observed and learned the process of using a proxy server. "He used a proxy server and created a fake email with which he sent a mail to the girl blackmailing her," said a source.

"He first sent an email claiming that he had a nude photograph of the girl and would post it on Facebook if he is not paid Rs1 lakh," said a police source.

The source said that when the email did not generate any response, Sanjay morphed a photograph that showed the girl in the nude and again sent it to her.

Soon a police complaint was filed and Sanjay was nabbed.
He was sent to four days police remand. Police sources said the gadgets and other equipment used by him will soon be seized.
