In the wake of the attack on Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, the government will soon convene a meeting to review security of Union ministers especially when they are visiting venues manned by private security.
Official sources said there were many ministers who enjoy only "X" (one Personal Security officer) and "Y" (two personal security officers) and there was a need for having fresh guidelines for preventing incidents like today to happen again, official sources said.
Officials from Press Information Bureau would also be called to ensure the presence of only genuine journalists around a minister at public functions, they said.
The move comes in the wake of a Sikh youth Harvinder Singh slapping Pawar at a function in New Delhi.
