The website Criczo.com will have rare footage of great innings by prominent cricketers
With the World Cup fever soaring, four youths from Surat have designed a website, exclusively for cricket. The website will provide latest information and updates about cricket. It will also enable the users to watch rare footages of great innings by prominent cricketers and also read information related to it. It will provide personal accounts to users like any other social networking site.
The website Criczo.com is the result of three year's hard work of Masud Vohraji, Nirav Patel, Daxesh Chauhan and Farhan Saiyed. This will be the first time when someone from Surat has developed a complete informative cricket website, with exclusive content about the sport.
"Cricket is more than a game in India. People consider the sport a religion and cricketers God. We have also added various cricket related games, quiz competitions and user accounts," Masud Vohraji, partner of V3+ web solutions that has designed the entire website, said.
Some of the rare footages will include double century of Vinod Kambli, 120 runs scored by Azharuddin at Lords in 1990, 119 runs scored by Sachin Tendulkar at Perth in 1992, etc. The website will also have collections of rare photographs of cricketers.
"To prevent copy-right issues, we have sought help for getting videos from our friends in India and abroad. We have received tremendous response and ended up getting these rare footages. Some of the footages that we have on our website have not been viewed ever," Vohraji added. The website, which was launched a month ago, has already signed two business deals.
One is with Cricket Community in Orkut and second is with cricketweb.com. For gaining commercial benefits, the website has tied-up with Google and is looking for other partners.
"Generally cricket related websites only provide information and statistics to users. But those registering with Criczo.com will get a separate account, through which they can share their opinions, mails with other members. We have linked social networking with cricket website," Nirav Patel, another partner, said.
At present, the website is purely concentrating on Word-Cup 2011 - providing updates and latest information, but in future, it will also include IPL and domestic cricket.
