Five-star hotel to come up in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu today laid the foundation of a five star hotel here, stated to be the first such hotel in the entire north eastern region, excluding Sikkim.
   
Undertaken by lottery king and former MP Mani Kumar Subba, the Rs 200 crore hotel with 160 rooms at Doimukh area is expected to be completed in two years.

Thanking Subba, Khandu said it had been dream for the people of Arunachal to get a five-star hotel which would bring lots of tourists from different parts of the country and abroad to enjoy the beauty of this huge hilly land inhabited by numerous tribes.

The demand for good hotels is on the rise as construction of several mega hydro-power projects is on in the state, the chief minister said.

Besides the hotel here, Subba's company has started building another five star hotel in Darjeeling and runs two such hotels at Gangtok in Sikkim and Siliguri in West Bengal.   

Khandu called upon leaders of Nyshi community, who dominates in five districts including the state capital to help the state government maintain law and order so that tourists and investors are not disturbed.
   
He also thanked Nabam Rebia, MLA, for providing the three-acre land along the Senkhi river on lease for the hotel.
   
Subba has an emotional attachment with Doimukh as he had started his business career from this place.
