After scrutinising the Maxx jeep in which two children died in Juhapura on Wednesday, officials of Forensic Science laboratory came to the conclusion that the kids had lit up a match stick in the vehicle, which caused the fire in the jeep.

According to AV Hinglajia, officer at FSL, the kids found a match box in the vehicle, and may have lit up one matchstick while playing with it. "We have found a half-burnt match box and some sticks in the vehicle during inspection on Thursday. The fire first burnt the seats and then the clothes of the kids," said Hinglajia, who conducted the investigation with his team on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday at 1:30pm, cousins Aman Razzaq Ali Saiyad, and Zeba Aslam Saiyad, both aged 3, entered the Maxx jeep parked near their home in Makkanagar, near Sankalitnagar in Juhapura.

After some time, the children's relatives and other residents saw smoke coming out the vehicle. They heard the kids' cries and pulled them out of vehicle. The kids were admitted to VS Hospital. However, they were pronounced dead by doctors in the evening.

"I believe that the kids got stuck in the jeep as they may not have found the door lock handle to come out of the jeep in time. Since all the windows were closed, they got suffocated by the smoke inside the vehicle," said Hinglajia.
