Fire in east Delhi building; no casualty

A fire broke out at a three-storey building housing a factory in east Delhi this morning, fire officials said.

The fire started some time before 3am at the third floor of the building in Seelampur area, and the fire department received a call a little after 3.15am.

There was no casualty in the incident that occurred in Street 8 of Seelampur area.

Some 20 fire tenders were sent to the spot and the blaze was brought under control within half-an-hour, a fire official said.

The building housed a factory where cotton and plastic waste were stored. However, it is not clear what kind of a factory it was.

Details about the extent of damage and the cause of the fire are not yet available.
