Fake currency racket busted in Kanpur, three arrested

According to police, the gang was running the racket for the past many months and had circulated fake currency with face value of Rs1 lakh.

Three persons were arrested for allegedly running a fake currency racket and counterfeit notes seized in Anwarganz area of the city, police said today.
 
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested one Shanawaz and recovered fake currency from his possession yesterday. He led the sleuths to the house of Ufroz from where police seized the equipment used for printing the counterfeit currency, they said.
 
Police also arrested their another accomplice Nor Alam from the neighbourhood and seized fake currency with face value of five thousand rupees.
 
According to police, the gang was running the racket for the past many months and had circulated fake currency with face value of Rs1 lakh.
 
Police is questioning them about their other accomplices.
