Dowry victim from Ghaziabad commits suicide

A woman allegedly committed suicide over dowry at her house in Modinagar area, police said.

Richa was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her house last evening, station house officer (SHO) Yogesh Pathak said.

A suicide note was recovered from the house in which the victim has alleged that her husband Praveen was harassing her over dowry, he said.

Richa was married to Praveen for the last three years and was continuously abused and pressurised for bringing more dowry, he said.

The accused has been arrested. The victim's body has been sent for postmortem, he added.
