As the probe into Commonwealth Games related spendings gained momentum, the Delhi government has brought down the number of Games related projects to 25 and decided to provide details about them only to the investigators.

Top sources said the government has decided to give probe agencies details about only 25 projects which have been identified as "directly linked to the event".

The inquiry by VK Shunglu panel, which has been given wide-ranging power to probe the irregularities, came up for discussion at the Delhi Cabinet today, they said.

Chief minister Sheila Dikshit said all the departments involved in Commonwealth Games projects should offer full cooperation to any central agency conducting investigation.

Sources said although 76 projects were earlier identified as Games projects, the number has been brought down to 25.

"Out of the total 76 projects, 25 has been identified as Games projects while 51 have been identified as city improvement projects," a source said, adding all the departments involved in Commonwealth Games were told to prepare details of their spending.

"The government will fully cooperate with any probe agency. But they should not ask for details of a project which was started, say, seven years back. If they want, we will provide them details of city infrastructure projects also," said a senior official.

Last week, government had decided to show some of the projects as not linked with the event. The projects sought to be delinked from the Games include flyovers and widening of roads.

According to official figures, various Delhi government agencies, including the public works department, had spent over Rs16,000 crore to enhance city infrastructure ahead of the Games.

Sources said the PWD is now trying to show some of the projects as non CWG projects. Earlier, the department had said it implemented 34 projects to improve city infrastructure for the Games.

They said CVC teams will study records of spending by departments including PWD, urban development, transport, environment, power and tourism.
