Union home secretary RK Singh on Wednesday clarified that clues on the blast outside the Delhi high court that claimed 13 lives and wounded over 76, would not be made public.

He told mediapersons that revealing evidence to the public would impede the probe.

"We have certain clues and there has been progress in the investigations. However, we do not want to reveal the clues and our progress to the public. As we believe that it will hamper our progress," said RK Singh.

He also confirmed that police have detained a couple of persons in connection with the blast.

"Some people have been arrested and are being interrogated at this point," he added.
Earlier on September 13, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had raised the reward money for information on the suspects behind the blast from Rs50 lakh to Rs1 crore.

A powerful bomb placed in a briefcase outside the Delhi high court killed at least 12 people and wounded 76 on September 7, in an attack authorities said was claimed by a South Asian militant group linked to al-Qaeda.

The two kilogram bomb dug a crater three to four feet deep near the main reception counter where passes are issued for lawyers and visitors to enter the sprawling sandstone building before the main security checkpoint.

Authorities said they are investigating a claim of responsibility allegedly made by the Harkat-ul-Jihad al Islami militant group -- an al-Qaeda affiliate with bases in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Ilyas Kashmiri, who US authorities believe was recently killed in Pakistan, was the head of the group.
