Death toll in fire-related incidents rises to 35 in Uttar Pradesh

Atleast 10 persons were killed and six others injured in fire-related incidents in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, officials said here today.
   
While three persons were killed in Bijnore, one death each was reported from Lucknow, Deoria, Barabanki, Azamgarh, Ballia, Gorakhpur and Basti districts in fire related incidents taking the total death toll in the state to 35 this summer, they said.
   
A two-month-old girl was charred to death and three others, including two women and a minor girl, were injured when the fire broke out in Raipur village in Gosaiganj area last night, police said, adding that crops spread over 200 bigha land was also destroyed in Itaunja and Bakshi ka Talab areas.
   
In Barabanki, a woman was killed and two others were injured in fire incidents in which 65 houses were also gutted in different parts of the district.
   
Police said that three persons, including Ruby (25), her son Mithilesh (1) and Urmila (24), all residents of Bihar, were killed when a house caught fire in Naklapur village in Bijnore district.
   
Meanwhile, 15 houses were gutted in a Dalit locality and crop spread over several acre land was gutted in different parts of Jaunpur district, they said.
