Dalit woman reaches DIG's office with dead unborn kids in Kanpur

A pregnant Dalit woman today reached the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police here and alleged that she was kicked by a policeman, which resulted in the death of the unborn kids.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Lal Bahadur said that the police has received a complaint and it is investigating the matter and if any police person is found guilty, strict disciplinary action will be taken against him.

The incident took place at Ghatampur area of the city, when Somwati along with her father-in-law Ramasrey arrived at the DIG's office with the dead foetus creating panic in the office.

The woman was admitted to Ursla hospital and DIG Neera Rawat alongwith SP(Rural) went to see her. Lal Bahadur later told reporters that investigation into the matter is on by senior officials.
