An argument over the quality of parathas served at an eatery in New Delhi Sunday turned violent when a drunk customer opened fire at a waiter who escaped unhurt, police said. The man who fired twice was arrested.
Rajesh, 27, a food stall owner from west Delhi, was taken into custody and a pistol along with two bullets was recovered after the shooting at Jain Dhaba in central Delhi's Connaught Place around 6.30am, police said.
"Rajesh fired two gun shots at waiter Monu, who escaped as he bent down," Dharampal, eatery manager, told IANS.
"Two friends of the accused, who were accompanying him, fled but Rajesh was caught with the help of other waiters and handed over to police," Dharampal said.
Rajesh, along with his two friends, came to the eating joint around 6.30am, a food joint and ordered three parathas, police said.
After a few bites, they complained that they had been served leftover food. A heated argument followed during which Rajesh fired two shots at Monu, 24, police said.
