The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), Ahmedabad believes that NRI engineer Shrenik Pandit, is not only a shrewd fraud but also an expert strategist given the way he trapped his victims.

Pandit was arrested by the crime branch for luring and cheating several women. Sources said Pundit had a plan in place to trap his victims the day he landed in India from Australia. He used a fake email-id to meet and date women.

Sources in crime branch told DNA that Pundit created an email id under the name of Rohit Patel. "He then contacted women through the mail id and through matrimonial sites and would initially flirt with them," the source said.

In all his communication with the women he would introduce himself as Rohit Patel.  The crime branch officials who are interrogating Pandit said he is very smart and knows how to dodge questions.

"He not only met women in Ahmedabad but also from other cities," said the source.
They said he often fixed the date, time and place where he would meet each victim. Pundit is in five days police remand and police believe that more victims may come forward. "He was in contact with many girls. Though he may have failed to trap some, others might have been affected by his scheming," said the source. Pundit, was arrested on Thursday evening after a girl, working with a call centre, filed a complaint against him for cheating her.
