Couples across Ahmedabad pick 11/11/11 for baby’s birth

A baby has a very special way of adding joy to one’s life, right from the time he or she is born. And the joy only doubles when this baby is born on an auspicious date such as 11/11/11.

Couples across the city and state have planned their babies on this day. Director of infertility and IVF specialist, Sunflower Hospital, Dr RG Patel said, “With the birth of a baby on such a date, he or she starts a joyful family life. Every time they celebrate the baby’s birthday, this year and time gets remembered.”

Sunflower has two patients who will deliver babies through C-section on 11/11/11. Of them, one is unplanned as she is already admitted in hospital owing to mild pain while the other has planned her baby’s birth date as 11/11/11.

Similar views were shared by GM, Mayflower Hospital, Dr Satish Pareek who said that the hospital had four patients who had planned their C-sections on 11/11/11, going by the significance of this date.

But it was by chance that Devyanshi Pandya, resident of Vallabh Vidyanagar, booked a caesarean for 11 am on 11/11/11 at Akanskha Clinic in Anand. When she went for sonography on Wednesday, her doctor suggested choosing a day for C-section and she chose the magical date.

“I don’t believe in auspicious or unauspicious days and dates. For me the magical moment would be when I hold my baby in my arms. It could be any day. But incidentally my C-section is finalised on this date,” she said.
