Describing skyrocketing prices as an offshoot of corruption, BJP leader, L  Advani, who entered the city in the course of his `Jan Chetana Yatra' this evening, said good governance and corruption cannot co-exist.

"Prices have gone up because of corruption which cannot coexist with good governance, just as democracy cannot coexist with dynastic succession," Advani said, addressing a rally here which was attended by top BJP leaders including party president Nitin Gadkari.

Advani criticised the UPA government for soft-pedalling the issue of black money, and said the amount of Rs25 lakh crore, purportedly lying in Swiss bank accounts of some Indians, should be brought back and channelised to develop rural India.

The 83-year-old BJP leader said his yatra was not for "repackaging" himself and had nothing to do with BJP or elections.

The purpose was to "reignite people to recreate a glorious nation" whose image was being sullied by an
environment of corruption, he added.

Gadkari alleged that UPA government was not acting against black money menace, and also accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi of doing nothing to stop the 2G spectrum scam.

He said BJP had told its MPs, MLAs and all office-bearers that the party would have a zero tolerance for corruption.

Gopinath Munde, party's deputy leader in Lok Sabha, launched an attack on Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, saying that "his place was in Tihar jail", for corruption.
