Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has accused the Congress party of doing injustice to Muslims by not giving them representation in the Parliament in ratio of their population in the country.

"Muslims comprise one-fifth of the population of the country and by not providing them representation in the Parliament in this ratio, Congress has done injustice with the minorities," Khan said.

"We will march to Delhi and demand the Centre that by not giving us representation after taking our votes is cheating with Muslims," he added.

He alleged that when it had been clearly mentioned in the Sachchar Committee report that economic, social and education level of Muslims was very poor, still not opening a single school in minority dominated area was cheating.

The senior SP leader said that Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal had said there were more than 200 universities in the country that do not have their own land.

"Mohd Ali Jauhar University has 200 acre land, even after that permission is not being granted to operate it," he alleged.

Khan said that in the Sachchar Committee Report it had been said that 20,000 inter colleges and universities that too in Muslim areas should have been set up.

The Congress government had completed more than a year in the office and had neither opened a single school, nor given jobs or any other step to uplift social level of Muslims, he said.

Taking a dig at expelled party leader Amar Singh, Khan said that he will accept him as a national leader even if he wins an election of the village head.

"First he (Singh) should get his treatment done and do other things later," he said.
