Congress demands removal of Naroda Lake's fortification

The Congress has demanded the removal of Naroda Lake's fortification. More than 100 Congress workers tried unlocking the gates of Naroda Lake on Wednesday.

Every year during Gauri Vrat, devotees offer prayers in the temple located on the banks of the lake. However, due to fortification, this year the devotees could not visit the temple.

"Though it has been more than a year, since the lake is ready for inauguration, the ruling party is waiting for their leaders to be free to hold the ceremony. As a result people could not visit it," said Surendra Baxi, leader of opposition in AMC.

Moreover, Congress also demanded that entry to the lake be made free.
