Twelve more persons succumbed overnight to cold conditions in Uttar Pradesh even as mercury rose slightly in most parts due to clear sky.
    
While three persons each were killed in cold related incidents in Lucknow, Siddharth Nagar and Basti, one death each was reported from Mirzapur, Banda and Hamirpur, taking the death toll in the state this winter to 337, officials said today.
    
Shahjahanpur, which recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degree Celsius, was the coldest place in the state, followed by Bareilly where mercury dipped to 6.6 deg C, Met department officials said here.
    
Meanwhile, Agra recorded a maximum temperature of 14.4 deg C, eight notches below normal, while Lucknow recorded a high of 19.8 degrees, three notches below normal, they said.
    
Kanpur and Gorakhpur settled at a maximum of 19.1 and 21 degrees respectively.
    
Jhansi, recorded a maximum of 17.6 deg C, which was six degree below normal, whereas Varanasi recorded a maximum of 19.3 degree Celsius, four notches below normal.
