CBI is being misused, says BJP

Senior BJP leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj held a press conference accusing the government of misusing the CBI.

Leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said the govt was using the CBI for votebank politics. Jaitley also alleged that the CBI is behaving likethe Congress' extended arm and that the timing had been chosen for the political convenience of the Congress party.

Sushma Swaraj said LK Advani had raised the issue of "misuse" of CBI
with finance minister Pranab Mukherjee but government did not
pay heed.

BJP's leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Swaraj said the BJP would not be attending prime minister Manmohan Singh's lunch for the opposition after the misuse of the CBI in Gujarat to corner Gujarat minister Amit Shah.

She also added that the political enviroment was not apt to attend the luncheon.
