BSP leader murdered in Agra; 2 arrested

Local Bahujan Samaj Party leader Babu Singh has been murdered allegedly by his former bodyguards in his house in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district, police said today.

The incident took place on the intervening night of August 5 and 6 when three assailants attacked Singh with knives while he was sleeping on the roof of his house in Garhi Rami village near Etmadpur town, they said, adding the trio also fired at Singh with a country-made pistol.

The police today arrested two of the three assailants, who are said to be his former bodyguards, in connection with the murder.
