A control-cum-equipment room of the state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was set on fire by masked Maoists in Vishakapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.
The incident took place in Peddabailur village last night when three extremists including a woman asked the lone lineman to come out following which they set ablaze the unit, damaging all the equipments, a senior police official from Vishakhapatnam told PTI.
According to the lineman, the equipments which were torched at the control room, near the Orrisa border were approximately worth Rs 15 lakhs, he said.
