It was chaos unlimited at the HB Kapadia School in Memnagar after a teacher received a chit saying there was a bomb planted in the school and that it would blast at 9.00 am. However, prompt action by school authorities soon brought the situation under control.

The hoax led to the closure of the school for the day while the police, bomb squad, dog squad, school staff and hundreds of parents and their kids were harassed for hours.
The police were informed by Ishwar Patel, the administrator of the school. "The school was searched for over an hour by the dog squad and the bomb squad but nothing suspicious was found," a police official told DNA.

Talking to DNA, the managing trustee of HBK school, Muktak Kapadia said this was an attempt to spoil the reputation of the school and the management would take appropriate action.  "We were out of the school to attend a programme on global warming when the  rumour spread in the school," Tarun, a student of standard VIII, told DNA.

The school was thronged by parents immediately after the rumour spread, police vehicles rushed in and the roads around the school were jammed with traffic.

The school staff immediately took charge of the students, most of whom were outside their classes to attend a programme. Managing trustee of HB Kapadia School, Muktak Kapadia is all set to file an official police complaint in the case.
