BJP's Rashtriya Ekta Yatra, which plans to hoist the tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Republic Day, today arrived Chandigarh from the national capital.

Led by BJP's student wing president Anurag Thakur, over 500 youths participated in the rally which got a warm reception by a convey headed by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Chandigarh president Maheshinder Singh Sidhu.

Shouting slogans such as Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Lal Chowk jayenge, jhanda leherayange', the rallyists criss- crossed the entire city.

"The yatra is part of a campaign for national sovereignty and solidarity...We are going to carry the national flag through several states...carrying the tricolour is not a crime," Thakur said.
