Dikshit had said the preparation has been affected by the incessant rains and if the showers did not stop then the deadline for completion of the unfinished projects may be extended beyond September 10.
BJP today attacked chief minister Sheila Dikshit for not setting a final deadline for completion of CWG projects citing incessant rains as the reason and said she did not heed to their persistent reminder about slow pace of work.
"The deadline has been missed for nearly 10 times in the last one year. We have been telling the government about slow pace of preparation. But the chief minister never heeded to our reminders and now see the condition of the city. Most of the projects are yet to be completed," senior BJP leader VK Malhotra said.
He also took objection to Dikshit's comment that all works will be over before commencement of the event on October 3.
"The participants of the event will start arriving in the city from third week of September and the Chief Minister says work will be completed before October 3. Our players will not even get the benefit of practicing at the home grounds," he said.
On Friday, Dikshit had said the preparation has been affected by the incessant rains and if the showers did not stop then the deadline for completion of the unfinished projects may be extended beyond September 10.
"It has been raining very heavily which has affected our works. If rain stops and sun comes out then we should be able to complete all the work by September 10. Otherwise, we will have to extend the deadline," she had said.
"But we are confident by grace of God we will be able to finish everything before October 3," she said.
Last month, Dikshit had set August 31 as final deadline for completion of all the projects related to the Games.
Officials said out of the 34 major projects undertaken by Delhi Government to enhance the city's infrastructure, 15 are yet to be completed.
