The BJP in Jammu and Kashmir today slammed National Conference for raking up issue of autonomy for the state and said the party should explain why its elected government faces revolt by the people there.

"Farooq (Abbdullah) should explain to the countrymen that what has gone wrong that the people of the valley, who had voted to power this government by exercising their right of franchise in a big way just about 20 months back, have now risen to revolt," leader of BJP Legislators Party in the state Chaman Lal Gupta said addressing party activists here.

He claimed that several Kashmiris, who met him, want to get rid of NC-Cong family rulers who have ruled the roost for so many years by making false and misleading promises that they would provide at least one job to each family.

This promises has led to unprecedented anger which in being exploited by "anti-India elements," he said, adding the NC is trying to cover up their own failures up raking the issue of autonomy, Gupta said.

Jammu and already has separate constitution and flag and any more autonomy would mean more secessionism and problems
for people of the state who have been deprived of many democratic and other rights because as the separate constitution provides unbridled powers to ruling junta of the state, he said.
