The ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday blamed Shiv Kumar Sharma, the state president of the Bhatriya Kisan Sangh, which is an affiliate of RSS, for yesterday's violence at Bareli town that resulted into the killing of a farmer in police firing.

"Sharma had ditched the government and the Kisan Sangh on earlier occasions also, specially when he gheraoed the state capital by blocking roads with tractor-trolleys in large numbers leading to Chief Minister's residence, a few months back and now again this time at Bareli which resulted in an unfortunate incident," the state unit BJP President Prabhat Jha told reporters.

The violence erupted at Bareli town as farmers were enraged over delay in wheat procurement process due to the shortage of gunny (jute) bags.

"In view of the above two incidents the party has decided to expose him (Sharma) in front of the farmers and also brought to the notice of Sangh's leadership about his hidden agenda," Jha said.

On both the occasions the Kisan Sangh had given in writing that it will hold peaceful demonstration against the government on the issue of farmers' various demands but ditched the government twice, he said.

Sharma was already booked under section 307 of the IPC, Jha said, adding he was colluding against the ruling party on behalf of the opposition Congress and the same was established with the demand of his release made by its (Congress) media committee chairman, Manak Agrawal earlier today in a press conference.

"Sharma wanted to contest Lok Sabha polls from Hoshangabad seat, but he was denied the party ticket following which he indulged in such activities to defame the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh," Jha alleged.
