Bangalore ACP summoned by Kerala court for role in Abdul Nasser Madani's arrest

Abdul Nasser Madani, who was arrested by Bangalore police from PDP camp office at Anwarssery near Kollam, is now in judicial custody in Bangalore.

The chief judicial magistrate court in Kollam has summoned Omkaraiah, Bangalore assistant commissioner of police and investigating officer of Bangalore twin blast case in connection with a complaint filed with regard to the arrest of People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Madani.

The magistrate Soundaresh yesterday directed Omkaraiah to appear befor the court on September 13 in a complaint filed by Abdul Salam, brother of Madani that the arrest of PDP leader on August 17 in the case was not accordance with law.

The court had earlier summoned Kollam SP and Omkaraiah to appear before the court in the case yesterday. While public prosecutor appeared for Kollam SP, no one represented ACP.

Hence,the Court directed Bangalore ACP to appear before the court on September 13.

Madani, who was arrested by Bangalore police from PDP camp office at Anwarssery near Kollam, is now in judicial custody in Bangalore.

The complaint was that the Karnataka police had not produced Madani in a nearby court immediately after his arrest as part of execution of the transit warrant.
