Assam minister faints at Independence day function

Senior Assam minister Dinesh Prasad Goala today fainted for a brief period halfway through his address at the Independence day function in Silchar town.

While delivering address at the District Sports Association (DSA) ground, Goala suddenly passed out and appeared to slouch, official sources said.

As securitymen present rushed to his aid, the minister said he was now okay and went through his address.

The minister was fine afterwards, attending doctors said later attributing the sudden blackout to heat and fatigue.
