Argentina football team pays homage to Mother Teresa's tomb

Argentina soccer team, including coach and assistant coach, visited the Mother House, the headquarters of Missionaries of Charity founded by Mother Teresa, here on Sunday.

Argentina soccer team had also visited the House after winning over Venezuela 1-0 in a friendly match palyed on Friday.

The team also paid homage to Mother Teresa's tomb ahead of her death anniversary.

Albanian-born Mother Teresa, who served the poor and destitute in Kolkata, was awarded Nobel Peace prize in 1979.

The team spent time clicking pictures, talking to nuns in the House and inquiring about the work of the foundation.

Argentina, who have been former soccer World Champions had come to India to play an international friendly match against the Venezuela, which they won 1-0.

Argentina team are scheduled to fly to Dhaka on the same day where they would play another international friendly against Nigeria on September 6.

Argentina's legendary soccer player Diego Maradona had also visited the Mother House during his visit to Kolkata three years back.
