A week ago, Indresh Patani, a resident of Vastrapur lodged a complaint with Vastrapur police regarding his 'vanished' car. According to Patani, a gold merchant, his son Harshid, who lives separately, borrowed his Santro for a day trip with his friend.

Harshid along with his friend Prateek borrowed his father's car for 'some time' with permission from his mother. But he never returned the car and the father was compelled to lodge a compliant against his own son. Meanwhile, Nadiad police nabbed Harshid in connection with a car theft. Four days ago, Harshid was arrested for stealing a Skoda from Nadiad.

Harshid confessed to having mortgaged the Skoda to a Shahibaug-based car dealer for money. He also confessed to having mortgaged his father's Santro car. He had lent it to his friend's uncle without his father's consent. Nadiad police handed Harshid over to Vastrapur police for investigation.
