Emboldened by victory of its alliance in the Mumbai and Thane municipal polls, Delhi BJP on Friday exuded  confidence of retaining power in MCD polls slated for March.

"The downfall of Congress will continue in the MCD elections here also. We will retain power as people have started rejecting the Congress," Delhi BJP president Vijendra Gupta said.

He was addressing a gathering during his Jansangharsh Yatra to Uttam Nagar.

"The yatra has now taken a form of mass mobilisation. The people of Delhi want complete change," he said.  The 15-day-long yatra, launched on February 11, entered the seventh day today.

The Shiv Sena-BJP combine today appeared set to retain the prestigious Mumbai and neighbouring Thane municipal corporations.
