ACB traps vet in unaccounted assets case, two held for graft

A disproportionate assets case was registered against a veterinary assistant surgeon while two persons including a deputy tahsildar were arrested in separate corruption cases in Andhra Pradesh today.

The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unearthed Rs2.10 crore worth disproportionate assets belonging to Dr Yerraboina Jayaramulu, Veternary assistant surgeon at Ramavaram in Karimnagar district after conducting searches at his residence and his friends' house. The assets include movable and immovable properties, ACB sources said.

In Visakhapatnam district, a deputy tahsildar and a private person were arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs5,000 from the complainant.

The Tahasildar E Ramachander Rao took pribe through a private person Jonna Pent Rao of Gajuwaka area in Visakhapatnam city for issuing a no-objection certificate (NOC) pertaining to the land of the complainant, sources said.
