The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had issued summons to the chairman of Ahmedabad District Co-operative Bank, Ajay Patel, and the president of the Rifle Club, Yashpal Chudasama, on April 30, 2010. But the summons could not been served to either, as the two men are allegedly absconding ever since IPS officer Abhay Chudasama was arrested.

Yashpal is the brother of the police officer who was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Sources in the CBI alleged that the two absconding men are believed to be close aides of Abhay and had allegedly managed the money he collected through extortion. The sources further said that Yashpal owns a finance company called, JM Finance, which had conducted huge transactions with the money.

The CBI has also summoned two people from Illol village, Bhaskar Bhatt and Ismail Bhovaniya. "They were Panch-witnesses when a well in Illol village on the farm of DG Vanzara was dug," a source said.

The source said the well was dug to find out whether the Kausarbi's ashes were dumped in the well.
