90-year-old sadhvi stabbed to death in Uttar Pradesh temple

A 90-year-old sadhvi was stabbed to death and her aide seriously injured by unidentified attackers in a temple in Saharanpur district.

Jamuna Devi and her helper Gayan Giri were sleeping on the premises of Mahadev temple when they were attacked at Toli village last night, police said today.

Giri was rushed to the hospital, they said, adding a large number of people gathered at the temple, which had witness the stabbing of a sadhu, Mahant Har Giri, in June 28, 2000.

A case has been registered.
