711 candidates file nominations for Bihar assembly polls

A total 711 candidates filed their papers on the last day today for 47 seats in the first phase of Bihar assembly polls slated for October 21.
 
Prominent among those who have filed their nominations were minister Narendra Narain Yadav, Renu Kumari and Vijendra Prasad Yadav.
 
Others include state Congress chief Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser and Ranjit Ranjan, wife of incarcerated former MP Pappu Yadav, additional chief electoral officer Kumar Anshumali said.
 
The scrutiny would be done tomorrow and October seven is the last date for withdrawal of namees.
 
During the day state RJD chief Abdyul Bari Siddiqui and his JD(U) counterpart Vijay Kumar Choudhary also submitted their papers for Alinagar and Sarai Ranjan seats respectively.
 
The two seats are among 45 seats which will go to the hustings in the second phase on October 24.
