Four MLAs from Telangana submitted their resignations afresh to Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar this evening, demanding immediate creation of Telangana state.

Of the four MLAs, three were TDP rebels, while another was suspended from the party.

Three of them -- Nagam Janardhan Reddy, K Harishwar Reddy and Jogu Ramanna -- met the Speaker in person in the assembly, while the fourth legislator S Venugopalachari sent in his letter.

These MLAs were among the 101 from the region who tendered resignations on July 4 and 5 on the statehood issue. The Speaker had rejected all the resignations on July 23 on the ground that they were submitted in an emotionally-charged atmosphere.

The 11 TRS MLAs too had earlier handed over their resignations for the second time upon rejection of their initial letters. They have not yet met the Speaker on the issue.
