He said he was preparing hard to come out clean in the case and has been devoting considerable time in reading the documents related to the case.
Former Telecom Minister A Raja Thursday said he would wait for the outcome on the bail pleas of DMK MP Kanimozhi and five others before himself seeking it.
"Let the bail pleas of Kanimozhi and others be decided. Then I will consider moving bail application," Raja, who has not approached any court for bail since his arrest on February 2 this year, told reporters.
He said he was preparing hard to come out clean in the case and has been devoting considerable time in reading chargesheets, voluminous documents and statement of witnesses. "I am reading the chargesheets, statement of witnesses and other documents related to the case. I have made a chart of what witnesses are saying (in the court), what evidence is there in support of the statements and what are the contradictions. I am myself a lawyer and I know how trial is conducted," Raja said.
Regarding his refusal to cross examine the prosecution witnesses since commencement of trial on November 11, he said he would do so when the witnesses would depose on the government's telecom policy.
"I will cross examine the witnesses when the policy matter will come. Till date, the witnesses are testifying about Swan Telecom and Reliance Telecom Ltd and I have nothing to do with them," Raja said.
Raja and Kanimozhi were surprised to know that Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was slapped at a public function in Delhi by a youth who had recently assaulted former Telecom Minister Sukh Ram outside Rohini Court after he (Sukh Ram) was sentenced in a graft case.
"Where did the incident take place? Why he was not put in jail (after assaulting Sukh Ram)?," asked Kanimozhi.
On being asked about Sukh Ram's sentencing in the graft case, Raja said he is too old and he met him in jail.
Earlier, before the start of the proceedings, Raja congratulated the five corporate executives, who were granted bail on Wednesday.
