10th biennial meet of endosurgeons in Ahmedabad

The Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), formed to promote and spread the advancement of endoscopic surgery in India and outside, is conducting the 10th Biennial National Congress of IAGES and workshop on Minimal Access Surgery (MAS) for the first time ever at Karnavati Club.

This four-day conference, which commenced on February 16, has been organised by Ahmedabad Surgeons Association and Nidhi Hospital. It has didactic teaching sessions, intense scientific debates, plethora of research papers in addition to interactive live operative workshop, satellite operative workshops as well as satellite video symposia.

"As the event is being held in Gujarat for the first time, there is lot of enthusiasm among over 1500 surgeons from across India who are participating in this programme. We also have delegates from Tanzania, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Taiwan, U.K, U.S.A, Singapore and other countries. Over 1,500 delegates are expected to participate in this conference, considered the Mecca of laparoscopic surgery events in India," said Dr Sunil Popat, organizing secretary - IAGES-2012 at the media briefing.

IAGES 2012 has been supported by Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital, Nadiad, Shalby Hospitals and Mayflower Women's Hospital. In this conference, many new subjects and equipment have been included for the first time.
