Zee Media files defamation case against Express

A criminal defamation case, filed on behalf of the Essel Group Chairman Subhash Chandra against Indian Express Private Limited, columnist Coomi Kapoor (author of the defamatory article), managing editor Viveck Goenka, whole-time directors Vaidehi Chintaman Thakar and Anant Viveck Goenka and Shibhana Subramanian was listed on Monday before the Patiala House Court in Delhi.

The complaint was about a defamatory and a malicious piece that appeared in The Indian Express newspaper recently.

Detailed arguments were made and the court has decided to take cognizance of the complaint. Next hearing of the case will be held on August 18.
