Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is confident of winning all the 80 Lok Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh in the next Lok Sabha Election 2019. Joining the debate at Zee India conclave on Saturday, Yogi Adityanath said: "Overconfidence and inability to assess the ground realities during the last few days of campaigning turned the things against us in Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha bypolls".

"The outcome of Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections is a lesson for us. But there are places where BJP has won for the first time," he said.  Replying to a question on the formation of the third front he said: "The third front in UP is not a new phenomenon. Who's the leader of this new SP-BSP alliance?".

Yogi Adityanath in an exclusive conversation with Zee News Editor-in-Chief Sudhir Choudhary refuted all rumours of internal rife within BJP.

He claimed that candidates were elected with the general consensus.

He also admitted that 'brand Yogi Adityanath' has taken a hit by this loss as he was a five-time MP from Gorakhpur, and Phulpur also was previously held by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. "Everyone knows these are bypolls which are fought on a small scale. BJP is a democratic party. We have begun analysing the loss and will take whatever steps are needed," he said.

"There is nothing inauspicious for me," said Adityanath on the party's loss post visit in Noida. "I am here to make inauspicious,  auspicious, " he said.

Here are other important statements Yogi Adityanath made at the conclave:

The Opposition's slogans on Ram Mandir (and the date of mandir construction) is now old. But we are optimistic:  Adityanath.

I am a karyakarta, not a neta. My philosophy is seva (service). And seva will continue to be our chief motto:  Adityanath.

The people of UP will not vote on the basis of religion: Adityanath

Cadres' overconfidence was one of the main reasons of our loss in Gorakhpur and Phulpur. Till the evening before the polls, the party members assured us of winning: Yogi Adityanath

Yogi Adityanath was speaking at Zee India Conclave. Before him, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi also spoke at the summit.
