Woman dies after being brutally beaten by husband in Rajasthan

A 22-year-old woman died after allegedly being beaten by her husband in Rajasthan, police said on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Laasi Devi died on Thursday in a government hospital, where she had been admitted after being brutally thrashed by her husband on Tuesday, SHO Mularam said.

According to police the victim in her statement on Wednesday had accused her husband of beating her. On Friday, a complaint was registered against the husband, Rama Ram Meghwal, by the victim's brother.

Laasi Devi married Meghwal four years ago and her brother alleged the accused frequently physically abused her.

An investigations is currently underway.
