Industrialist Anand Mahindra on Sunday lost his cool over reports of rape of nine-year-old girl whose body was found in Surat with 86 injury marks.

The Chairman of Mahindra Group, who usually maintains a calm presence on social media, displayed rare outburst today as he joined the nation in grief over rising number of rapes of minors.

"The job of executioner is not an aspirational job. But for the execution of brutal rapists & murderers of young girls, I would volunteer unhesitatingly. I work hard to stay calm, but my blood boils over to see this happen in our country," he said, reacting to the rape-murder of a girl in Surat.

The body of the unidentified girl, believed to be between nine and 11 years, was found in Bhestan locality in Surat and had 86 injury marks.

It was spotted lying in bushes near a cricket ground on the morning of April 6 by some passersby, the police said.

The autopsy report said there were 86 injury marks on her body, including the private parts, indicating that she was tortured and raped, Inspector K B Jhala of Pandesara police station said. She was strangulated, the report said.

While the police had earlier said that a body of a girl had been found, details of the case were made public today with Surat Police Commissioner Satish Sharma holding a press conference.

As the girl has not been identified yet and no one has come forward to claim the body, Surat police have posted 1200 across the city seeking information.

"1200 posters have been posted across Surat for identification of girl. Have announced reward of Rs 20,000 for anyone providing information about the victim or her family. Case has been handed over to crime branch," Sharma said.

The report came even as there is huge outrage over the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua.

The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir police has arrested eight people, including two Special Police Officers (SPOs) and a head constable.

Another case that has attracted huge attention is the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao where a BJP MLA is the main accused.
