West Bengal: Two fires break out in Howrah, no casualties

There was no report of any casualty in either incident.

Two fires broke out at Shibpur in Howrah district today.

A senior fire brigade official said that five fire tenders put off the flames at Fort William Jute Mill which broke out in the morning.

In the second major fire incident, some distance away under Shibpur police station area, 15 fire tenders fought off the blaze at Sri Krishna Garment factory this noon. The same official said, "Our men are at work and the situation is under control." West Bengal Minister Arup Roy was at the spot along with senior district and police officials.

The cause of the twin blazes was also not yet clear.
